Hey, Can I Tryout?
By: David | February 4th, 2009Um … no, because I personally (a) am still slowed by an adult league hamstring pull suffered in 2003, (b) actually suck, and (c) am a guy, technically.
But you can (assuming neither a/b/c above are also true of you). Melissa* (who my wife now fondly calls my “handler” for roping me into this gig) has the details on how you can become a bonafide member of an actual Womens Professional Soccer team.
But hurry. FC Gold Pride tryouts are this weekend! And you have to complete your online “application” by Thursday.**
* Please don’t crush Melissa’s dream of playing ….. but, you also had to have completed an application with the league prior to the January 16 draft in order to play this year …. in which case you probably aren’t getting your news from me.
** No official word on when you will actually have to sign a contract. If ever.
