Will @fcGoldPride Twitter Tonight?
By: David | March 21st, 2009Will FC Gold Pride players and staff be updating their Twitter accounts live while the team plays the Bay Area Select All-Stars tonight in San Francisco? Frankly, I have no idea.
Various news outlets have reported that WPS players will be allowed — nay, encouraged — to update Twitter accounts during the inaugural match next weekend. Some people think it’s a good idea. Some don’t.
On their conference call earlier this week, league GMs discussed this new-fangled Twitter thing, and a number of them have since created accounts. And many teams, especially Boston and Chicago have been very active, Twittering updates during games and other events (although it’s been team officials, not players). So tonight would be a perfect test for the Lions, right? Who knows?
But if you want to find out yourself, here are the relevant Twitter accounts I have been able to locate:
http://twitter.com/FCGoldPride
http://twitter.com/FCGoldPrideGM
http://twitter.com/FCGoldPrideTeam
http://twitter.com/brandichastain
There are many more from around the league — including many league office staff and just about every team. but you’re on your own to find all of those. It’s not that hard.
And since you’re dying to know, I am @dhkeller on Twitter. So there.

Sadly so far, the tweets tonight are nowhere near the levels of last week’s Chicago/Boston scrimmage. But honestly, twitter shouldn’t be forced onto people who don’t care. If staff/players on other teams don’t wanna, then so be it.
