WPS Draft Video: Coach Montoya
By: David | February 13th, 2009WPS — and the FC Gold Pride — have released a video that follows the first few rounds of the WPS Draft, held back on January 16. The video includes “behind the scenes” type footage from FCGP coach Albertine Montoya and Chicago Red Stars coach Emma Hayes.
The video includes Montoya’s analysis of Christina DiMartino: “Yes, we’ve had our eye on her from the very beginning. We think she’s the best attacking midfielder in the country — bay far. She’s my type of player. I love everything about her game, and I think she’ll excel enough within our system.”
Coach also expresses surprise over Carrie Dew still being available as his second round pick, and explains the speed with which the team selected Marisa Abegg. The video also includes the Pride’s pick of Brandi Chastain with the 45th pick overall.
